Joseph E. White HOLLY HILL - Mr. Joseph Erwin "Joe" White, 76, of Holly Hill, husband of Betty White, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 in a Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Holly Hill with Dr. David Brien and Rev. Earl Behr officiating. Burial will follow in the Holly Hill Cemetery.

Mr. White was born in Daytona Beach, Fla., a son of Evelyn Fowler White and the late Fred Folks White. He retired from Holcim as purchasing agent. Mr. White was a lifetime member of the Bunnell, Fla. Masonic Lodge, and was a sports enthusiast. He was an active member of First Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School Secretary and was a former deacon.

A loving husband, son, father, grandfather, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Jeffery White.

Surviving are his wife of Holly Hill; his mother of Holly Hill; daughters, Pam (Tom) Gaddy of Florence, and Amy (Dale) Crowe of Easley; sons Jody (Laura) White of McDonough, Ga., and Mark (Debbie) White of Lexington; grandchildren, Bethany (Justin) Robinson of Florence, Jordan Barrett of Columbia, Jake Barrett of the US Navy, Gretchen (Brandon) Haynie of Anderson, Ty and Trace Crowe, both of Easley, Aubrey and Taylor White, both of Mc-Donough, Ga., and Savannah and Caleb White, both of Lexington; and a great-grandson, Luke Robinson.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this Tuesday at Avinger Funeral Home.
