BAXLEY- James Gregory Greg Morris, 52, died Friday.

Survivors: daughter, Marina Morris; son, Brett Morris; special friend, Mary Jean Allen; 2 special cousins, Shayne Smith and Nan Marie Miles; uncle, Mike (Tish) Smith; aunts, Martha Ann Poppell and Mary Sally Turner; 2 grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 pm Monday at the funeral home.

Interment: Deen Cemetery

Sheriff Benny Deloach reports that on February 24, deputies with the Appling County Sheriff's Department investigated a one-vehicle accident on Red Oak Road. Upon arrival, officers found that James Gregory Morris, 52, of Baxley, had run off the roadway resulting in a fatality.

James Gregory "Greg" Morris, 52, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012. Greg was born July 21, 1959 in Appling County to the late Tom Lawton Morris, Jr. and the late Janet Gail Smith Morris. He was a member of Red Oak Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Marina Morris of Metter; one son, Brett Morris of Baxley; a special friend, Mary Jean Allen of Eastman; two special cousins, Shayne Smith and Nan Marie Miles; one uncle, Mike (Tish) Smith; two aunts, Martha Ann Poppell and Mary Sally Turner and two grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Greg Morris were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27 in Swain Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Creig Smith officiating. Interment followed in Deen Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Timothy Courson, Jerry Hallman, Kenny Stone, Shayne Smith, Henry Morris and Frank Thornton.

Honorary pallbearers were all friends in attendance.

Musical selections were rendered by Sandra Smith.

Arrangements were under the direction of Swain Funeral Home.
