HUSBAND AND WIFE PASS

Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Waters are dead, passing away within a week of each other of influenza-pneumonia at their home in the Deen District. Mrs. Waters died on Monday, Mar 1 and Mr. Water's death occurred one week later on Monday, Mar 9. They both became ill about the same time, but Mrs. Waters’ strength failing before that of her husband, and she consequently succumbed earlier. Mr. Waters was twenty-eight years old and was married six years ago to Mrs. Bertie Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Smith. Mrs. Waters was a member of Hopewell

Their bodies were laid to rest in the Deen Cemetery, the pastor of the church conducting the funeral and burial services.

Mr. Waters was a farmer, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Waters, and was one of the leading men in his community, and the sad culmination of two young lives has cast gloom over the community. They are survived by three little daughters, Lucille five years; Winifred, three years; infant daughter, three months. Mrs. Waters was the sister of Mrs. Henry Fossett and Miss Laura Smith of Baxley, and Mrs. D. D. Deen of the Deen District.
