John O. Buckles, a member of one of the pioneer families of Flagler County died Tuesday evening at the Bunnell General Hospital following an illness of two weeks duration.

Mr. Buckles was born in Volusia County but had resided almost all his life in Flagler County. He was a retired farmer and was 84 years of age.

Surviving are five daughters; Mrs. Daisy Ruth Wadsworth, Jessup, Georgia; Mrs. Pauline Hoel, Jacksonville; Mrs. Hazel Dillon, Warwick, R. I.; Mrs. Frances Barker, Smyrna, Georgia; Mrs. Johnnie Allen, Bunnell.  Also surviving are five brothers; Luke Buckles, Ft. Lauderdale; Clyde Buckles, Bunnell; Raymond Buckles, DeLand; Arthur Buckles, Holly Hill; Clarence Buckles, San Mateo.

Sixteen grand children and the great-grandchild also survive.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:30 Thursday morning at the Espanola Cemetery. Rev. Howard R. Porter, Pastor the First Methodist Church of Bunnell will officiate.

The body will rest at the Craig Chapel, 201 East Moody until the funeral hour. Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell if in charge of arrangements.
