Funeral services for Mahlon B. Butler, 83, were held today at 3 P. M. from the First Baptist Church here, with Rev. J. M. Dickson, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be made in Espanola Cemetery.

Mr. Butler, who was a resident of Bunnell for 16 years, died last Friday night in the veterans’ hospital in Lake City where he had been a patient for several months.

He was a native of New Gordon, Pa. and a retired first sergeant of the U. S. Army after 30 years of service, which included the Spanish-American war and World War II.

He was a member of Flagler Post 115 of The American Legion here. The graveside services will be full military honors performed by an uniformed company of the American Legion post.

Surviving is his widow, Mrs. Agatha Annie Butler, Bunnell, and stepson, Samuel James May, Rochester, N. Y. W.

Carl Davis and Son of Palatka is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers, all members of Flagler Post 115, are: H. M. Benson, O. F. Alford, Shelton Brooks, Chester Ruggles, and Bion Matherly.
