Mrs. Daphne Holland Chambers, wife of Travis Chambers of Bunnell, died at the home of her brother, Dean Holland, at 5:45 Friday afternoon, December 14, following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Chambers was a member of one of Flagler County's pioneer families and had resided here most of her life. She was a, member of the Methodist Church since early childhood.
Funeral services were held from the Bunnell Methodist Church on Monday afternoon with Rev. A. A. Godfrey, pastor of the church, conducting the services. He was assisted by Rev. W. K. McClure, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial followed at the Espanola Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Travis Chambers, and two daughters, Nancy and June; her mother, Mrs. Maude Holland of Bunnell.
Also, surviving are four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Hoke Cobb, Mrs. Cordell Robertson, Dean Holland and David Holland of Bunnell; Mrs. Lota McDowall of Jacksonville; Mrs. George Geibert of Montgomery, Alabama; and Z. G. Holland, Jr. of Hastings.
Pallbearers were C. O. Magee, Rudye Shamblen, Martin Harding, John McIntosh, John C. Rice and Albert Johnston.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Garcia Funeral Home of St. Augustine.
