BUNNELL – Eula Parker Clifton, 77, before her retirement was the bridge tender at High Bridge near the Volusia-Flagler county line, died Wednesday evening at Shands Teaching Hospital, Gainesville, after a short illness.

Mr., Clifton had tended the span for about 25 years.

She was a native of Ambrose, Ga., and moved to Flagler County from Douglas, Ga., as a teenager. Her address was Catherine Road in Bunnell.

Survivors include three sons, George, New Smyrna Beach, Harmon, Atlanta, and Terrell Howard, San Antonio, Texas; three daughters, Shirley Cauley, St. Johns Park, Callie Coward, Bunnell, and Louise Mazzatto, Hastings; three brothers, John Parker, Thomaston, Ga., Robert Parker, Haines City, and Charlie Parker, Centre, Ala.; three sisters, Nellie Barrett, Athens Ga., and Annis Palmer and Alliner Lott, both of Douglas, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
