January 14, 1971R. Walter Cody, 84, Haw Creek, longtime resident of Flagler County, died Monday afternoon at J. Hillis Miller Hospital in Gainesville.
He was born in Lake City in 1886 and lived at Elkton until 1903 when he moved to Dupont. He lived at Dupont until 1917 when he moved to his present residence at Haw Creek.
He was a former County Commissioner and was a Director of Citizens Bank of Bunnell. He was a member of the Flagler County Farm Bureau and Flagler Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; one son, Richard W. Cody, Haw Creek; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be Thursday morning at 10:30 in the First United Methodist Church of Bunnell with the Rev. Earle Wilder officiating. Interment will be in Espanola Cemetery.
Baggett-McIntosh Funeral Home, Daytona Beach, is in charge.
