COWART, C.H. "PAPPA H" - Graveside service for C.H. "Pappa H" Cowart, 99, a lifelong resident of Flagler County, who died Mon. Feb. 26, 2007, at Flor­ida Hospital Flagler, Palm Coast, will be 10:30 a.m. Thurs., March 1, at Seville Ceme­tery, Seville. The family will receive friends today (Wednesday) from 5 p.m. un./l 8 p.m. in the cha­pel of Craig-Flag­ler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach.


Mr. Cowart was born Feb. 6, 1908, in Seville, to Ollie Wesley and Nannie Beatrice Masie Cowart. He was a local cattleman and timber man for many years in Flagler County. Mr. Cowart served 28 continuous years as a Flagler County Commissioner.


He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bunnell.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Thera; three sisters, Eula Stone, Effie Turner and Catherine Johnson; and three brothers, Oliver, Wesley and Victor Cowart.

Surviving him are his daughter, Elissa Tilton, Bunnell; son, Charles Howard Cowart, Bunnell; stepdaughter, Imogene Strickland, Bunnell; sister, Juanita (Cowart) Nolan, Seville; nine grand­children, Chuck Cowart, Rob Cowart, Edee Hurst, Jay Tilton, Jerry Tilton, Jimmie Sue Casale, Jill Garrett, Mark Strickland and Marcy Bentley; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
