DEEN, IRMA TICE RUGGLES-Graveside memorial service for Irma Tice Ruggles Deen, 85, who died of a stroke Thursday, December 4, 1997, at Memorial Hospital­West Volusia, DeLand, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 13, at Espanola Cemetery, Bunnell, with the Rev. Howard Cox of Crescent City officiating.

Irma will be long remembered as the youngest landowner in Bunnell in 1913. She came to Florida in 1947 from Holley, N.Y. She traded her rural piece of land for a piece in town and she and her husband, Chester Ruggles, built a lovely home. After separating, years later she married Claude Deen of Bunnell. Upon his death she resided in North Carolina with her son. Four years ago she came back to Pierson to be with her daughter, Patricia Ruggles Dykes. She spent her remaining four years between Pierson and DeLand.

Survivors include her son, Edward R. Ruggles, retired from the Marine Corps, Newport, N.C.; daughter, Patricia Ruggles Dykes, Pierson; brother, William Tice, Holley, N.Y.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Jewell Deen, Flagler Beach; grandchildren, Marvin R. Tucker Jr., Titusville, Douglas A. Tucker, Palm Bay, Keith A. Bennett, Orange Park, Lynnette B. lemon, Bunnell, Dwight F. Bennett, Crescent City, Timothy E. Bennett, Port Orange, Mike Ruggles, Shreveport, La., and Jimmy Ruggles, Newport; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
