Robert D. Giddens, 38, 1804 Nelson Ave., Ormond Beach, a construction worker, died Wednesday morning at Halifax Hospital as a result of chest wounds suffered when a gun he was dismantling accidentally discharged.
Born in Jacksonville, Mr. Giddens was an Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his widow, Mary Lou; a son, Rodney, Bunnell; four daughters, Tina, Bunnell, and Melissa, Angela, and Tammy, all of Ocala; his father, Archie, Bunnell; two brothers, Richard, Bunnell, and George, DeLeon Springs; and three sisters, Frances Arnold, Bunnell, Martha Brasol, Augusta, Ga., and Elaine Edge, Ormond Beach.
