BUNNELL - Charles H. Gordon, 83, of East Palm Street, a retired mechanic foreman for the Division of Forestry with the State of Florida, died Monday in an automobile accident on U.S. 1 in Bunnell.

Mr. Gordon, a Navy veteran of World War II, moved here in 1955 from Chesterfield County, S.C., his birthplace. He was a member of the Flagler County Cattleman's Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8696. He was a Pearl Harbor survivor. Mr. Gordon enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting artifacts.

Survivors include three sons, Kenny, Bunnell, Heywood, Mount Dora, and Frankie, Ocala; eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the Flagler County Education Foundation Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 354117, Palm Coast, FL 32135.

GORDON, CHARLES H., SR. - ­Graveside service for Charles H. Gordon Sr., 83, E. Palm Street, Bunnell, will be held Friday, Feb. 3, 2006, at 11 a.m. in Espanola Cemetery, Espanola. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive. friends on Thursday, Feb. 2, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach.

Mr. Gordon died Monday, Jan. 30, 2006, in Bunnell. He was born Aug. 16, 1922, in Chesterfield Co., S.C., a son of the late Olin C. and Eunice White Gordon, and he had resided in Bunnell since 1955. Mr. Gordon was retired as a mechanic foreman for the State of Florida, Division of Forestry, a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy, where he was a survivor of the attack on Pearl Harbor, and was a member of the Flagler County Cattlemen's Association and VFW Post 8696. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and collecting artifacts.

Preceding him in death was his wife, Dallas Gordon, Dec. 26, 2004.

Surviving are three sons, Heywood, Mt. Dora, Frankie, Ocala, and Kenny, Bunnell, eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Scholarship Fund of the Flagler County Education Founda­tion, P.O. Box 354117, Palm Coast, FL 32135.
