James Anthony Guthrie, 45, of St. Augustine, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Masters Funeral Home of Palatka is in charge of arrangements.

James A. “Andy” Guthrie, 45, of St. Augustine, FL passed away Sunday, September 30, 2012 in St. Augustine due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

He was born in New Bern, NC and had been a resident of St. Augustine for the past 18 years, coming from Stella, NC. He was a 1985 graduate of the Swansboro High School in NC. Andy had worked as a technician in installing water systems. He enjoyed golf, hunting, football, old cars and NASCAR. He cherished his children. He had attended the Emmanuel Independent Baptist Church in Swansboro, NC.

His son, Anthony Tyler James “T.J.” Guthrie, also passed away due to injuries sustained in the accident.

Surviving are his daughter, Autumm Guthrie of Bunnell; his father and step-mother, Bud and Glenda Jean Guthrie of Stella, NC; his mother and step-father, Lorraine and Johnny Gliott of New Bern, NC; his grandmother, Christabell Godwin of Stella, NC; one brother, Jeffery Smith of Alabama; one sister, Deena Kirkpatrick of Virginia; his life companion, Maria Isherwood of St. Augustine; and four step-sisters, Sophie Isherwood, Jenna Isherwood, Danielle Isherwood and Georgia Isherwood, all of St. Augustine.

A combined funeral celebrating the lives of Andy and T.J. will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka, FL with Pastor Donald Ewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Espanola Cemetery in Espanola Cemetery in Bunnell, FL.
