Henry "Wilbur" Holdridge was called home on December 3rd after 83 years of a life well lived.

He was born in Daytona Beach and moved to Flagler County in 1956, and made it his home. He was the patriarch to his family whom he led with strength, wisdom, and compassion, but most importantly, by example.

He was the devoted husband to June, his wife of 64 years, and "Daddy" to his daughters Debbi (Jim) Nichols and Darlene (Jim) Galvin. He was "Big brother" to his sister Geraldine Fisher, and "Uncle Wilbur" to many nieces and nephews. He was "Grandpa" to Melinda (Ian) Hannah, Stacey (Dan) DeCamp, Kandace Galvin, Kenny (Norah) Galvin, and Jamey Galvin, and he was "Papa" to his great and great-great-grandchildren: Alex, Hunter, Chris, Skylar, Macy, Capp, Caleb, Ryder, Bella, Kyson, Paisley, and Brantley.

He was a member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell for over 50 years, which he considered his second home. He served as a Wildlife Officer for 30 years before retiring from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission. He was an avid sportsman and outdoorsman, a passion he shared with many lifelong hunting buddies, whom were also part of his extended family.

He was one of the few remaining original Florida Crackers and was a cowboy at heart. He spent many of his retirement years as a house parent at a boys' ranch in New Mexico. Above all, he was a man of God whom led his life in the fruit of the spirit and is now surely enjoying eternal life in the Kingdom of Heaven.

The family will be receiving visitors on Thursday, December 6th from 9:30am to 11:00am at the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, 2301 Commerce Parkway. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am, followed by internment at Espanola Cemetery.

Memorial Donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Bunnell Building Fund.
