ORMOND BEACH – Minnie Lee Howell, 89, 305 S. Ridgewood Ave., a resident of the Flagler area for 75 years, died Tuesday morning at Bowman’s Nursing Center.

Born in Appling County, Ga., Mrs. Howell moved to the area from West Florida. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bunnell and Royal Neighbors. She was a life member of Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include her sons, Jessie H. McKnight, Jr., Flagler Beach; two brothers, Noah Spivey, Palatka, and Clyde Spivey, Sacramento, Calif.; one sister, Cleo Lewis, Houston, Texas; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Craig, Bunnell is in charge.

Funeral service for Minnie Lee Howell, 89, 305 S. Ridgewood Ave., Ormond Beach, who died Tuesday morning at Bowman’s Nursing Center, will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Craig Funeral Home Chapel, 5 Old Kings Rd., with Dr. Kenneth Gaskin, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and interment will be in Espanola Cemetery.

Mrs. Howell was born in Appling County, Ga. and moved to the Bunnell are 75 years ago from West Florida. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Bunnell,  a life member of the Order of Eastern Star No 93, and a member of Royal Neighbors.

She is survived by one son, Jessie H. McKnight, Jr., Flagler Beach, one sister, Cleo Lewis, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Noah Spivey, Palatka and Clyde Spivey, Sacramento, Calif., three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Craig Funeral Home Bunnell is in charge of arrangements.
