		    CHILD KILLED BY PASSENGER TRAIN
Little Edna Jones, aged three years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Knox Jones, of Espanola, was struck by passenger train No. 30 at that place last Friday afternoon and died in the St. Augustine Florida East Coast Hospital a few hours later.
It seems that the little girl had wandered away from home and happened on the railroad track just as the passenger train was pulling into the station. The engineer put on the emergency brakes, herking the train down and throwing the passengers out of their seats, but did not stop in time to prevent hitting the child.
Dr. St, Peter, of Bunnell, was immediately summoned and the train was held until he arrived ….. little girl to the F.E.C. Hospital at St. Augustine, where she got the best of medical attention, but her injuries were so serious that she only lived a few hours.
Interment took place at Espanola Sunday.
