Bunnell - Walter Eugene Knight, 64, a farmer in Haw Creek where he had lived all of his life, died yesterday afternoon at home after a lengthy illness.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 200 F. and A. M. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and was a member of the Flagler County Shrine Club and the First Methodist Church of Bunnell.
Survivors include his wife, Leona; a step-daughter, Mrs. Tommy Durrance; two sons, Gene and Eldon, all from Bunnell; two step-sons, Robert French, Daytona Beach, and Robert Chastain, Jacksonville; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Singletary, Jacksonville, and Mrs. Frieda Dunn, Waxahachie, Tex.; and two brothers, Dr. Claude Knight, Palatka, and Col. Dan Knight, DeLand; and 16 grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the First Methodist Church of Bunnell, Rev. Oliver Taylor will officiate. Burial will be at Espanola Cemetery. Calling house will be from 3 this afternoon to 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Crag Funeral Home, Bunnell, and from 2 p.m. tomorrow until service time at the church.

Walter Eugene Knight, a life-long resident of Flagler County, died at his home in Haw Creek Thursday afternoon after a lengthy illness. He had suffered a heart attack about a year ago and had been in failing health since that time.
Mr. Knight was born in the Haw Creek section of Flagler County and had engaged in the farming industry there for many years. He was a graduate of the School of Engineering of the University of Florida in Gainesville. He was 64 years of age.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Bunnell, the Bunnell Masonic Lodge No. 200, Morocco Shrine Temple, was a 32nd Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Flagler County Shrine Club.
He is survived by his wife, Leona M. Knight, Haw Creek; two sons, Eldon Knight: and W. E. (Gene) Knight 3rd, both of Bunnell; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Patsy Durrance, Flagler Beach; two stepsons, Robert Chastain of Jacksonville and Robert French of Daytona Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Singletary, Jacksonville, and Mrs. Freda Dunn, of Wahache, Texas; two brothers, Col. Dan Knight of DeLand and Dr. Claude Knight of Palatka. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held from the First Methodist Church of Bunnell at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The pastor, Rev. Oliver F. Taylor, officiated. , Interment followed at the Espanola Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles Creal, R. W. Cody Sr., T. K. McKnight, P. A. Edmonson, Zack Holland and Leslie Tucker. Members of the Bunnell Masonic Lodge and the Flagler County Shrine Club attended in a body.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Craig Funeral Home of Bunnell.
