John Mitchell Luke, age 78, died at the home of his son in Bimini Monday evening, at six thirty, after a short illness. Mr. Luke had been in failing health for several years but had only been confined to his bed a short time.

Mr. Luke was a native of Berrien County, Georgia, but has resided here since 1925.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Leila Luke, six sons, Gault, Raymond, Ernest, Dean of Flagler County, Clark of Tifton, Georgia, and Pleamon of Washington, D. C.; two daughters, Mrs. Sally Bryan of Flagler County and Mrs. Gladys Lemon of Athens, Ga.

Funeral services were held at the, home of his son in Bimini, Tuesday afternoon and burial was made in the Espanola Cemetery the same afternoon. Carl Davis of Palatka was in charge of arrangements. Rev. Edgar Stevens, pastor of the First Baptist Church here conducted the funeral service.

Pallbearers were: L. V. Hunter, Tom Cobb, Hugh Cobb, Willie Messer, A. Neilson, and H. E. Duttenhaver.
