Donald Lee Nobles, Jr.



Locally known BBQ Master, Donald (Donnie/Froot Loops) Lee Nobles, Jr. of Bunnell, Florida passed away fighting his medical issues. He showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the pain and suffering, Donnie stayed strong until the end. He was brought into this world on January 24, 1960 and entered heaven on January 26, 2023 with his loving wife and family by his side while in the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House.

Donnie was preceded in death by his Father Donald Lee Nobles Sr and his beloved Mother Patricia Lane Minshew; brother, Van Sanders. He leaves behind his loving wife and caregiver Mary Husch Nobles, his sons Donald Lee Nobles III (DJ) and Donnie Jones (and children), a step daughter, Whitney Andrews (Kelley, Cale and JB), Grandson Caysen Ford Nobles and his Brother Jeff Nobles (Cindy) and Sister Penny Nobles Buckles(Randy). Nieces Trisha, Kristen, Jessica and Valorie and a nephew Dusty and many more relatives and wonderful friends.

Donnie’s love of life and family was first and foremost to him. He had a passion in his younger years of race car driving. He loved to fish, hunt and most of all he was well known as the BBQ King of Donnie’s BBQ. He had an infectious laugh, loved to play jokes on you and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and most of all a friend to many. He donated and sponsored many local events and was always doing something for someone. He was a former City of Bunnell Commissioner as well as one of the best equipment operators in the County.

The funeral service will be held at Espanola Cemetery on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 3:00 PM. There will be visitation on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach from 6:00pm-8:00pm. His family will be present to welcome loved ones.

A Celebration of his life with food will be held at the Flagler County Fairgrounds in the Cattleman’s Hall located at 150 Sawgrass Road in Bunnell on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 immediately following the interment service.
