Anthony R. Panchella, 83, died recently at his home in Flagler Beach after an extended illness.

Panchella was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and moved to Flagler Beach 20 years ago. Panchella was a retired brick mason and served in the Navy during the Spanish American War.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; two daughters; four sons, including Ted Panchella of Bunnell; two sisters; 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
