Thursday, May 30, 1929

Henry Thomas Sayers, aged 69, and a native of London, England, died Sunday, May 26, at his home here after a long illness. His death was attributed to paralysis from which he had been a sufferer for a period of seven years. During the last few years of his life he was completely helpless, being confined to his bed for about two years.

The deceased was born in London, England, but had spent most of his life in the United States, he having received his citizenship papers when at the age of 21. Coming to Flagler County in 1909, he has since made his home here, where he has a host of friends.

The only survivor here of the deceased is his wife, who also is of English birth, but has made her residence in the United States practically all of her life. She was married to Mr. Sayers September 15, 1915 in Richmond, Va.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home, Rev. A. H. Hancock, of the Methodist church here, conducting the service.

Interment was in Espanola Cemetery at 3:30 o’clock, the burial ceremony was in charge of the local Masonic lodge.
