Scruggs, Jr., 75, who went to be with our Lord, July 22, 2013, will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, 2729 Moody Blvd. (SR 100) with Pastor Eric Trawick officiating. Interment will follow.

Rev. Scruggs was born in Rutherford, NC and was proud to be raised by Ethel Rollins Wall to be a southern gentleman.

He served our country valiantly as a U.S. Marine and later became a graduate of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Raymond moved to this area in 1978 and served as the Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Holly Hill for many years. After moving to Flagler, he still had a desire to help others so Raymond became a probation officer. His love for the Lord shown thru his eyes and his smile lighted every room he entered. Raymond also had a love for gardening and a very green thumb.

He was devoted to his church, his family and to helping others.

In lieu of other remembrances the family suggests donations be made in his memory to The Salvation Army, 1504 Old Moody Blvd. Bunnell, FL 32110.

Survivors include two sons, Jeffery S. (his best friend, Brooke Burgess), Ormond Beach and Randy L.; a sister; and three granddaughters, Jessica, Jennifer and Ashley.
