Funeral services for John (J.I) Sheffield, Jr., 36, Lake Como, who died Thursday evening at J. Hillis Miller Medical Center at Gainesville, were held Sunday afternoon at 3:00 in the Bunnell First Baptist Church. The Rev. R. B. Keyes, pastor of the Gainesville East Side Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Donald Foster, pastor, officiated. Interment was at Espanola Cemetery.

He was born in Saint Augustine and was a lifelong resident of Flagler County before moving to Lake Como 2 years ago. He was a welder.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Dezzie Sheffield, Lake Como; two sisters, Miss Hilda Sheffield, St. Petersburg; Mrs. Johnnie Mae Roughton, Gainesville; two brothers, Aubrey, Jacksonville; and Clifton, Bunnell; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were John Rodgers, Marvin Strickland, Robert Kendall, Tommy Bertha, Stanley Deen and D. H. Cobb.

Craig Funeral Home, Bunnell, was in charge.
