Murrell Story, about 13 years of age, was accidentally killed this morning while hunting near here with two school companions.
The three boys, Murrell Story, his brother, Ewing, and Gayle Mercer went hunting with 22-calibre rifles early this morning in the vicinity of the L. M. Whitaker place just outside of the town limits. Between nine and ten o'clock they met, sat down on a log and, according unverified accounts, began unloading their guns and checking ammunition. In some manner, Murrell's rifle was discharged, the bullet passing entirely through the head, probably killing him instantly.
The other two boys attempted to bring the dead boy out of the woods to the road, but secured help and he was brought into Bunnell.
Both the dead lad and his brother are orphans, living here with their grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Cauley, not very far from where the accident occurred.
The dead boy's brother and the Mercer boy are nearly prostrated with grief.
