		    Charles Tonkin, 111 Palmetto Ave., Flagler Beach, passed  away Sunday morning at Bunnell General Hospital after a long illness.
		    Born in Cornwall, England he came to the United States at  the age of 21. Mr. Tonkin was confidential secretary for Quaker Oats Company of  Chicago. He was treasurer for the Evansville, Indiana YMCA for ten years before  moving to Florida. He had resided at Flagler Beach for the past 12 years.  During his retirement he was employed as Executive Director of the Flagler  Housing Authority in Bunnell. He was a charter member of the Bunnell Rotary  Club and a 50 year Mason. A member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, he served as  a lay reader for several years prior to his illness.
		    Survivors include his wife, Viola; and several nieces and  nephews in Chicago, Stanley Tonkin, Doreen Crossman, Dorothy Nichleson, Vera  Schveigert, Melvin Gray and Ivan Gray.
		    Funeral services were held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church,  Bunnell, at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Robert Stuart and the Rev.  Canon Shumacher officiating. Interment followed at Espanola Cemetery. Craig  Funeral Home, Bunnell, was in charge of arrangements.
		    Pallbearers were John Cannon, Louis Steflik, Tom Lenssen,  Averley Brown, Bob Henderson and Ted Hein.
