Ammon Athley Walker, 73, died at his home here at eight o'clock after a long illness.
Mr. Walker was born at Lake Butler, living a part of his early life in Georgia, then in West Florida, coming to Flagler County 36 years ago. He was engaged in the turpentine business before retiring several years ago.
He had been a member of the Bunnell City Commission several terms, and was mayor from 1944 until he resigned early this year.
He was a past master of Bunnell Masonic lodge in which he was one of its most active members.
Funeral services will be held from the Methodist church here Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with Rev. R. A. Carr, pastor of the church, officiating. Garcia Funeral Home of St. Augustine is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be at Espanola Cemetery and will be in charge of the local Masonic lodge.
Survivors are his wife, of Bunnell; two sons, Charles of Augusta, Ga., and Gordon of New Smyrna, and one daughter, Miss Lucille Walker of New Smyrna.
