THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, September 20, 1928
John Wasner, age 33, of Flagler Beach, after a lingering illness of several months, during which time he was confined to his bed, died Tuesday afternoon at his home in Flagler Beach.
Wasner had been a resident of the coast town for several years where he conducted a business up to the time of his illness.
The deceased’s immediate family consisted of his wife and two sons, all of whom live in Flagler Beach.
In a communication for there it was reported that “With heroic fortitude he fought the ravages of the disease which had taken hold of him and to the very last held tenaciously to the conviction that he would recover. His cheerfulness and patience during the months he was bedridden were characteristic of the disposition which had won for him many friends in Flagler Beach and Bunnell and contributed much to the relief of the strain of those whose unceasing and devoted care were his during his protracted illness.”
Funeral services were held here in the Baptist church Wednesday afternoon, the interment being in Espanola Cemetery.
