		    William Henry Wells, 77, 1101 East Moody Blvd., Bunnell, a  former Flagler County Sheriff and longtime resident, died Friday, Dec. 22 in a  North Florida hospital.
		    Born in Milton, Ga., he moved from there to Hastings,  Florida in 1920. He settled at Shell Bluff and later moved to Haw Creek in 1921  where he started farming. In 1941 he was elected Sheriff and served in that  capacity for twelve years.
		    Prior to his retirement in 1955 he was employed by the State  Beverage Department for one year.
		    Mr. Wells was a member of the First Baptist Church of  Bunnell. He was also a member of Lodge No. 200 F. and A. M., Bunnell, and was a  charter member of the Flagler County Shrine Club.
		    Survivors include his wife, Louella; two sisters, Mrs. Mary  Upshaw, Marietta, Ga.; and Mrs. Martha Nell Stevens, Richland, Ga.; two  brothers, T. D., Flagler Beach and Hawey, Bluefield, W. Va.
		    Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the  First Baptist Church, Bunnel1. Rev. Charles Anders officiated. He was assisted  by Rev. T. Shelton Brooks, First Baptist Church, Bunnell and Rev. Oliver  Taylor, First Methodist Church of Bunnell. Masonic rites were conducted at the  graveside. Burial was in Espanola Cemetery.
		    Active pallbearers were Bion Matherly, L. H. Church, H. H.  Murray, Walter Creal, Duane Deen and Fred Fruits. Members of the Flagler County  Shrine Club served as honorary pallbearers.
		    Craig Funeral Home, Bunnell, was in charge of arrangements.
