Roy H. Whitaker, 27-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Whitaker of the Bimini section, died at 2 o'clock Monday morning at Klock's hospital in Daytona Beach after an illness of two years.

Mr. Whitaker was born in Alabama but has made his home in Florida nearly all his life. He, with his parents, came to Bunnell about 12 years ago where he was engaged in farming and dairying. He served as deputy sheriff during the four years his father was sheriff of Flagler County.

Surviving are his wife, his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Ray Chester Hunter of Espanola and Mrs. J. Tilton of San Mateo.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, with Rev. Edgar Stevens, pastor, officiating.

Burial was made at Espanola Cemetery, and the following were pallbearers: Clyde Lewis, E. A. Smoak, T. K. McKnight, P. S. Johnson, Hubert Frier and Lee Blakely.
