WIMBERLY, CONNIE L. - Funeral service for Connie L. Wimberly, Palm Coast, will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, November 5, at Community Baptist Church, Old Dixie Highway. The family will receive friends Friday, November 4, in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. South, Flagler Beach.

Born Constance Louise Cauley on Sept. 29, 1936, she was the oldest child born to Ellamae and Bud Cauley, longtime residents of Flagler County. Connie peacefully fell asleep in the arms of her Lord on November 1, 2005. She was in Ormond Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for many years. We would like to give praise to the doctors who have treated her so well.

Being born and raised in Flagler County, Connie was well-known and very well-loved by all who knew her. Known for her strong win and her strong faith in God, she tried to live a good Christian life. A member of Community Baptist Church of Korona, she loved her church family, and they have always been there for her. She loved her God-given family, always giving advice and being a broad shoulder for anyone with a need.

Although Connie was a double amputee, along with numerous other disabilities, she never let it get her down or stop her from trying anything she set her mind to. So many people have complimented her as being such an inspiration in their lives. Her children and grandchildren have been left with a legacy of dignity, faith and a strong commitment of family ties.

Connie always liked the idea of having helped to raise her three brothers, Gene, Jerry and Billy Cauley, all of Flagler County.

Her love for them and their wives ran very deep.

Predeceased in death by her husband of many years, she and James R. Wimberly had three daughters together, Jami McAfee (David), Palm Coast, Claire Louise Wimberly (Charles), New Orleans, Sonya Deniece Polesnek (Mike), Ormond Beach; and son, D. J. Holder, Alabama.

Connie was blessed with seven grandchildren, Victoria Worthan, Douglasville, Ga., Amanda Young, Dallas, Ga., James Derek McAfee, Palm Coast, Iola Dawn Burnsed, Ormond Beach, Destiny Holder, Alabama, Shane Polesnek and Wendy Mitchell, South Carolina. She also has 13 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews. Connie will be missed by many, but having finished God's tasks for her here on earth, we know her to be running on two legs again, happy to be at "home" with her Father, Lord and Savior.

The family would like to thank Pastor David Vannoy for presiding over the funeral, and Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home for their part in the celebration of our mother's life.
