Orlando F. Alford Sr., 84, prominent Bunnell businessman and resident for the past 29 years, died Monday evening (April 15, 1974) from an apparent heart attack.

The former owner of Flagler County Abstract Company, who lived at 407 N. Church St., was born in Buffalo, Mo. and came to Bunnell from California.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and clerk for a number of years. A veteran of World War I, he was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 115; on the board of directors of the Citizens' Bank of Bunnell; past master of Masonic Lodge 200 F&AM and past president of the Flagler County Shrine Club.

Mr. Alford Served as treasurer for the Florida Inland Navigation District for 25 years; was a former member of the board of trustees of the Florida County School System and was a former Bunnell City Commissioner.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie, Bunnell; two sons, Don Alford, Jacksonville and Orlando F. Alford Jr., Palatka; a sister, Mrs. Naomi Tucker of Buffalo, Mo. and four grand­children.

Funeral services were Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with interment in Hope Cemetery with the Rev. Donald Foster officiating.

Active pallbearers were: Roger Edwards, Duane Deen, Jack Hosford, Howard Allen, Victor Cowart and L. H. Church.

Honorary Pallbearers were: Walter Creal, Bion Matherly, L. L. Harris, John Capo, Dr. John Canakaris, A. B. Johnston, W. L. Wadsworth, John A. Clegg, Tom Holden: William Lennssen, H. V. Peavy, Charles Creal and George Clegg.

Craig, Bunnell was in charge of arraignments.
