Obituary of Carmen Algarin

Carmen Algarin, 64, of Palm Coast, FL, (formerly of Bridgewater, New Jersey) passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 at UF Health Shands after a valiant fight with Leukemia.

Carmen had been a Business Analyst for Chubb Insurance of New Jersey for over 40 years, retiring in 2014. Carmen was a strong, independent, kind, generous, beautiful woman and role model; a confidante, partner in crime with her sisters, singer, artist, and guide to life! Her remaining family is comforted in the knowledge that she is in the care of their beloved mother, aunts, grandmother and other loved ones who have gone before - free and healthy until they are reunited.

Carmen is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law; Margie (John) Check and Laura (Ed) O’Brien all of Palm Coast, Florida, family in Panama, Virginia, Andorra and her beloved cat, Gracie, as well as many new friends in Palm Coast, longtime friends in New Jersey, and special group that have been together for over 50 years since high school.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Carmen’s name be made to either Leukemia Research Foundation, 191 Waukegan Road Suite 103 Northfield, IL 60093 and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Orlando, 4116 Silver Star Road, Orlando, FL 32808

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 11:00AM at Santa Maria del Mar Church, 915 N. Central Avenue, Flagler Beach, Florida. Inurnment will be private.

Arrangements are under the care of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Memorial Gardens and Crematory.
