PALM COAST -- Joseph Anthony Amato, 76, of Clubhouse Drive, who retired after 36 years of service as a maintenance employee for TWA Airlines and the New York Institute of Technology, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Flagler. 

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Amato, a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War, came to this area in 2001 from Long Island, N.Y. He was a member of Praise Assembly Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, baseball, fishing, woodworking and crossword puzzles. 

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Angelina; four sons, Joseph, Lady Lake, Carl, Fort Irwin, Calif., Martin, Rochester, N.Y., and Vito, North Hollywood; a brother, Carl, New Jersey; a sister, Ann Madison, Vail, Colo.; and eight grandchildren.
