PALM COAST -- Matthew Saverio Avagliano, 86, of Perchshire Lane, a retired electrical technician for AT&T, died Friday at Florida Hospital-Flagler.
Mr. Avagliano was born in Hoboken, N.J., and came here in 1980 from Ridgewood, N.J. An Army veteran of World War II, he served as a medic and was held as a prisoner of war. His memberships included St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Ex-Prisoners of War, third- and fourth-degree Knights of Columbus and Society of the First Division.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Dorothy; a son, Matthew, Henderson, Nev.; a daughter, Charlene Carlson, Palm Coast; and four grandchildren.
