Manuel passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Port Orange Hospice Care Center. He was born on August 19, 1928 in Portugal to the late Manuel and Maguelina Goncalves Barreiro.

Upon his retirement from the construction industry he enjoyed his membership at the Portuguese American Club of Palm Coast and attending every Sunday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Manuel loved being at home and kept it spotless.

He was a very devoted and loving husband who honored the memory of his deceased wife by visiting her grave every day and making sure it was spotless. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Ramalho Barreiro in 2005.

Survivors include his children, Joe M. and his wife Gloria Barreiro of Flagler Beach, George and his wife Rosanne Barreiro of Colonial, NJ, Gloria Elwakal of Orlando; a sister in Portugal; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the American Cancer Society or Hospice Volusia/Flagler.
