Mass of Christian burial celebrating the life of Dr. Eduardo Barrera, 73, of Palm Coast who passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Ormond Beach, will be Saturday May 15, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Those who wish may visit Friday, May 14, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. till 7:00 P.M. in the chapel at Clymer Funeral Home, and on Saturday May 15, 2010 from 9:30 A.M. till 10:30 A.M. in the memorial room at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Dr. Barrera was born in Bogota, Columbia and moved to Palm Coast in 1976 from Puerto Rico. Eduardo was a member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He was a local Physician and Surgeon in the Palm Coast area since 1976. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Dr. Barrera enjoyed Classical music and the opera, He also loved to cook, travel and read. He organized a Pee Wee Soccer team in Palm Coast in 1977.
Dr. Barrera is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cecilia; son, Rafael E. Barrera of Palm Coast; daughter, Martha X. Barrera of Palm Coast; sister, Nohra Braun of Germany and brother in law Hans, Ulrich Braun of Germany.
Donations may be made in Dr. Barrera's name to The Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation at The Arthritis Trust of America, 7376 Walker road Fairview, TN 37062-8141.
The family of Dr. Barrera entrusted the arrangements to Clymer Funeral Home & Cremations.
