Funeral services celebrating the life of Oswald Constantine Blackwood Sr. "Ossie", who passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Flagler Hospital in St. Augustine, will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Palm Coast, 6050 Palm Coast Parkway, Palm Coast, FL. His family will receive friends on Friday, December 5, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church. Burial will follow the service at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Rd. S., Flagler Beach.

Mr. Blackwood "Ossie" was born at the Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica on July 11, 1934 to George Blackwood and Anita Edwards. Ossie lived in Kingston Jamaica for the first half of his life where at the time the tap dancer met and married Visper Alfreda Strachan in 1957. When they started their family a couple years after the ambitious wanted more for his family, so he left to make a better life for them.

Ossie became a man of the sea, he worked for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines for 34 years. He then retired to Palm Coast, FL in 2005 where he built his dream home. He was a lover of games like rummie cube and backgammon to name a few. Ossie was an avid domino player in his later years, and always had a corny joke on the tip of his tongue. He will be greatly missed by his family and everyone who knew him.

Mr. Blackwood is survived by his brother, Norman Blackwood; and sister, Veronica Brown; daughters, Juliana Peters and Francine Mair; sons, Norman Blackwood and Oswald Blackwood Jr.; sons-in-law, David Peters and Dwayne Mair; daughter-in-law, LaWanda Blackwood; and his grandchildren, Andre and Troy Blackwood, Chelsea Peters and Dwayne Mair II.
