Lila May Blake, 85, of Palm Coast, passed away peacefully April 22, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Blake was born in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, a daughter of Earl & Lillian Mullins Avery.
She grew up in Cleveland, and worked as a computer operator for the Parma City Schools. She was known for her strong determination and spunky spirit. She retired to St Augustine, Florida with her husband Joseph in 1997. In 2000, they built their dream home in Palm Coast, Florida where they spent their remaining years welcoming family and friends.
Lila was member of the Moose Lodge, and also a member of the Survivors Group and People Who Need People club in Palm Coast.
Her husband, Joseph M. Blake of 42 years died May 23, 2015.
Mrs. Blake is survived by two children, Barbara (Tony) Csiszar, of Palm Coast, and Gary (Julie) Blake of West Salem, OH; 15 Grandchildren, and seven Great-Grandchildren.
Besides her parents, and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Avery, and two sisters, Alice Parker and Mabel McKinley.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 4-7 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lila's name to Vitas Hospice, 4 Old Kings Road North, Palm Coast FL, 32137.
