Paul “Oom Paul” J. Boetius, 95 of Flagler Beach, Florida, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his home. He was born on October 3, 1922 in Paramaribo, Suriname.

He immigrated to New York in 1958 and worked as a machinist until his retirement. In 2003 he moved to Plantation Oaks and enjoyed watching his New York Mets play, taking beautiful photos and gardening. Paul was known for his giant sunflowers. He was a caring brother, brother-in-law and a loving uncle.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia Boetius in 2012.

He is survived by many loving nieces, nephews and relatives.

Donations in his memory may be made to Florida Hospital Hospice Care.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 9, 10:00-12:00PM at the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach. A funeral service will begin at 12:00PM with interment to follow at Craig-Flagler Palms Cemetery.

Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens.
