Dominic Bongo III
Dominic Bongo, III, 74 of Palm Coast, passed away June 7, 2021 surrounded by his family after a 18 month battle with cancer.
He was born November 19, 1946 in Stamford CT, a son of Dominic and Stella Filardo Bongo.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Intrepid. Dominic received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two Campaign Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon. Following his honorable discharge, he owned and operated his own business in Stamford. He enjoyed going out to eat, bowling, shopping at Publix, reading western novels, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Dominic is survived by his wife of 51 years, the former Theresa Sparagna, two sons David Bongo and Dominic A. Bongo, two sisters, Jane (Norman) Mulvey and Pam Fox, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ed Fox.
Family and friends will be received Monday, June 14, 2021 from 10:00-11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, where Mass will be held at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Flagler Memorial Gardens. Mr. Bongo requested of all visitors “No suit, no black, and no tears.”
