Funeral services celebrating the life of Lazarine Bonitto, 99 (Affectionately known as “Mama”) of Palm Coast will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 12:00 PM (Noon) in the Palm Coast Praise Assembly of God Church 3601 E. Moody Blvd., Bunnell FL. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services at the church. Entombment will follow in Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens.
“Mama” passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at the home of her daughter Magdalena who along with her other daughters, Veta and Elena, and her granddaughter, Charmaine had been her loving caregivers for the past three years. She was born on September 3, 1914 in Guadeloupe a daughter of the late Beliz and Eleanor Pierrepont Loyson. Mrs. Bonitto immigrated to Cuba where she met her husband Stanley and then they immigrated to Jamaica and eventually to the United States.
She had been a resident of Palm Coast since 1989 coming from Queens NY. “Mama” was a devoted Christian woman who loved the Lord and prayed and read her bible daily. She was a member of the Palm Coast Praise Assembly of God Church. “Mama” enjoyed cooking, sewing, and was the matriarch of the family who devoted her life to all generations.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley in 1988, a daughter Eldora and a grandchild.
She is lovingly survived and cherished by three daughters, Magdalena Williams of Palm Coast, Veta Whitfield and her husband Errol, of Tampa FL, and Elena Hammond and her husband Patrick of Queens NY, two sons, Winston Bonitto and his wife Ivy of Palm Bay FL and Albert Bonitto of Kingston Jamaica, twenty one grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The family suggests that memorial contributions can be made to the Palm Coast Praise Assembly of God Church in memory of “Mama”.
