A funeral service for Eleni “Nitsa” Bouzas, 82, of Palm Coast, will be celebrated on Saturday, March 18, 2011, 11:00AM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in St. Augustine. Interment will follow at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit on Friday, March 17, 6:00-8:00PM at the chapel of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, Flagler Beach.

Eleni passed away on Friday, March 11, 2011, at Florida Hospital Flagler. She was born on April 28, 1928, in Greece to the late George and Anna Tatsios. She moved to the United States in 1951 with her husband and infant daughter and built a life and family in New York. In 1994, she and her husband moved to Florida and enjoyed traveling back and forth to Greece every year to visit family and friends. She loved sewing and worked for many years as a sample hand seamstress for an expensive line of dresses in NYC where she once made a dress for Elizabeth Taylor. With her not perfect English she finished cosmetology hairdressing school in NYC and worked for Tony Bennet’s brother as a hairdresser. She cooked the best Greek food; and in her later years she loved watching the Lifetime channel because they were all “true stories.”  Eleni was deeply religious and attended the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 62 years, Dimitrios just 1 month ago.

Survivors include her daughter Mary and her husband John Manis of NY; her son, Dean and his wife Jodi Bouzas of Palm Coast; and her daughter Anna Bouzas of Palm Coast. Eleni adored her 7 grandchildren, John Jr., Anna, Irene Eleni, James, Natasha, Eleni Samantha, and Victoria; and her 6 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed; her memory will live on through her loving family and friends.

Donations in her memory may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. Services are in the care and trust of Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
