Earl C. Brockett, 67, superintendent of the city waterworks here since 1927, died in Halifax Hospital Tuesday afternoon at 5:15 o'clock after several weeks’ illness.
Mr. Brockett, a native of Holdridge, Neb., came to Bunnell in May 1922 from Hastings, Florida, where he had lived about a year. For two years he was in partnership with W. E. Kudrna in owning and operating the Service Garage. While at Hastings he was engaged in dredge work constructing drainage canals.
He at one time owned a farm in the Haw Creek community, but always maintained his residence in Bunnell.
Funeral arrangements are not complete, but will be held in the Baptist Church with elders of the Church of Latter Day Saints conducting. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery with Baggett-McIntosh Funeral Home of Daytona Beach in charge.
Surviving is his wife Rossie and a grandson, Kenney Jackson, of Bunnell; two sisters, Mrs. C. C. Judy of Foss, Okla.; and Mrs. H. A. Heater, of Eustis, Neb.; a half-sister, Mrs. Carrie Douglas of Enterprise, Kansas; one brother, Ora Brockett of Lyngle, Wyoming. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
