THE FLAGLER TRIBUNE
Bunnell, Florida
Thursday, September 21, 1922

Bruner the elder - a landmark in Flagler County and known by every citizen from St. Augustine to Ormond, is dead - died quietly in his home on the shores of Oyster Lake just north of Ocean City, last Friday afternoon, his passing out coming almost without warning and without suffering.

His entire family was with him at the end, his daughter having just completed a most remarkable trip from an eastern city, an account of which appears elsewhere in this issue, being only just arrived.

Mr. Bruner was homesteading a fine piece of beach property and lived with his sons on the eastern shore of the lake near the Atlantic Ocean. Being quite old and nearly blind the old fellow spent most of his time on the road near Dixie Highway and Ocean City in an effort to interest someone in his claim that he might get treatment for his eyes, out always without results, which makes his case pitiable.

His remains were buried Saturday last in the Cochran cemetery near his home, interment in charge of J. A. Jett and Co., of Bunnell.
