Pasquale J. "Pat" Calandro, Sr.

Pasquale J. "Pat" Calandro, Sr., 84, of Palm Coast, died Saturday, at his residence surrounded by his family. Mr. Calandro was born February 7, 1929 in New Haven, CT., a son of Angelo and Florence Zimbardi Calandro.

Upon graduation from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. He served aboard the U.S.S. Shea, Rodman, and Pitt, and received the World War II Victory Medal. Following his discharge, he worked for U.S. Motors as a Foreman, and then was a business partner of Colonial meat center. He was also operations manager of American Archives in Milford, Ct. He retired in 1990 and moved to Florida with his wife. Following his retirement, he worked with his sons at Four C's Deli. Former member of the Italian American Club in Connecticut. He loved to fish, bowling, and was an avid New York Yankees and Giants fan.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, the former Mary Benoit, whom he married September 18, 1948; two sons, Pasquale (Diane) Calandro, Jr. and Edward Calandro, both of Palm Coast; one sister, Dolly Ciaburri of Connecticut, and Angelo Calandro, Jr., of Florida; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Ross) Hamel; Dawn Mundy; P.J. Calandro, III., and Nicole Calandro; four great-grandchildren, C.J. Philpot, Chad Philpot, Adam Hamel and Madison Rendred. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Calandro, sister, Jean Gagliardi and a brother, Joseph Calandro. Family and friends will be received Friday, August 23rd from 5-8 at the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, August 24th at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Parkway in Palm Coast, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will follow at the Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
