Angelo M. Camardello

Camardello, Angelo (Zeus), was born in Dolgeville, New York on Sept. 2, 1926 and passed away peacefully on March 26, 2014 at Holy Cross Catholic Hospice.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Sharon Camardello and two sons, Michael and Joseph Camardello, daughter-in-law Linda Camardello, brother Alfonse, sister-in-law Lura Camardello, two grandchildren Jessica Camardello and Brittany Rickard, the soon-to-be-first great grandchild, and good friends, Raul Ramos and Mark Frankel.

Angelo devoted the first half of his career to the New York State Thruway and retired for the first time in 1982. Angelo developed a second career as a business owner of the family grooming salon, pet store and pet food and supply distribution company. Angelo started to sell and distribute Bench & Field and Iams and Eukanuba pet food. Eventually the distribution company, known as Sharon’s Distributors, Inc. expanded from New York State to include Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine with nearly 1,000 pet retail customers and veterinarians. Angelo loved selling, prospecting and traveling to visit customers as far away as Caribou, Maine with his nephew and sales manager, Rob Camardello. All of the customers loved Angelo’s sense of humor, smile and his strong and honest work ethic. In 2000, Sharon’s Distributors, Inc. was sold to Proctor and Gamble and Angelo retired for a second time. Through both careers Angelo loved music and was a professional drummer. He played drums and was in a band. On the weekends he played for weddings, parties and at local lounges.

Upon retirement Angelo and Sharon moved to Flagler Beach. They both enjoyed living near the ocean and loved watching the sun rise every morning. Angelo spent his final days surrounded by his wife, two sons, two grand children, two nurses, Joyce and Collette, good friends, and Zeus the family dog.
