Funeral services for Robert Michael Capitolo, 68, Palm Coast, who passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2009 at Florida Hospital Flagler, will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. S., Flagler Beach.

His family will receive friends on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens, Flagler Beach.

Robert was born on October 4, 1940 in Elmont, N.Y. to the late Umberto Capitolo and Alice Traver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served as a Paratrooper. During his working years, Robert worked as a Golf Course Caddy, he was a Taxi Cab Driver in New York City, and he was a Bus Operator for Trailways Continental in New York. He was a member of the Daytona Beach Christian Drive-In Church. Robert enjoyed watching TV, sports, and the Internet. He moved to Palm Coast in 2007, coming from Daytona Beach Shores.

Robert is survived by his long-time companion of 23 years, Louise E. Van Dyke, Palm Coast. Additional survivors include his two sons, Robert Knapp, Southwick, Mass., and Vincent Knapp, Las Vegas, Nevada; his sister, Mary Louise Davanzo, Cairo, N.Y.; his brother, Herbie Capitolo, Long Island, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, and Nicole Knapp; his first cousin, Donald Graham; and his second cousin, Kayla Graham.

Arrangements are in the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.
