Funeral mass celebrating the life of Rose Delima Castan, 93, of Palm Coast, who passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Stuart F. Meyer Hospice House, will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 10:30 am at the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 4600 Belle Terre Pwky., Palm Coast. Her family will receive friends on Friday, July 10, 2009 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Craig Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Rd. S., Flagler Beach and on Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 9:30 am until the 10:30 am Mass at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Entombment will follow the Mass at Flagler Palms Memorial Gardens in Flagler Beach. Mrs.

Castan was born on November 1, 1915 in Cap-Haitien, Haiti to the late Nord Jean Pierre and Erzulia Joachim. She worked as a Teacher at Beilgian Sisters of Sacred Heart Parish in Cap-Haitien, Haiti. She was also a Seamstress and use to make ladies hats. She was a member of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, and she enjoyed playing cards, gardening, sewing, and cooking. She moved to Palm Coast in 2005, coming from Queens, NY.

She is survived by her son, Serge Castan of Haiti; daughter, Marie Lucy Mondesir of Weston, FL; daughter, Fleurette Francois of Haiti; daughter, Alise Riche and her husband, Wilfrid of Palm Coast; son, Jacques Edouard Castan of Palm Coast; son, Eddy Sejour Castan of Haiti; sister, Antoinette Jean Pierre of Haiti; brother, Matthew St. Surin of Brooklyn, NY; sister-in-law, Agnes Castan White of Hollywood, CA; brother-in-law, Lavanda Castan and his wife, Rialto, CA; 28 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband of 73 years, Edouard Castan.

Memorial donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Castan to the American Lung Association, 412 S. Palmetto Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114 and/or the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Ste. 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32119.
