Josephine Celebre


Josephine Celebre, 91, of Boca Raton, Florida, formerly of Brentwood, New York, peacefully passed away on May 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born on February 26, 1927, Josephine, affectionately called "Juzie", was the only daughter of Mary and Joseph Solazzo of Brooklyn New York. She is survived by two brothers, Bart and Mario Solazzo.

She worked as a secretary for J.P. Stevens in New York City. Later in life she worked for the Suffolk County Police Department as a Crossing Guard for 24 years on Long Island, New York. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Louis Celebre who she married on December 21, 1947. Josephine lovingly and selflessly dedicated her life to her family and raised two wonderful children, a daughter Barbara and son Robert.

Later in life they developed a passion for cruising and together enjoyed 102 cruises to different destinations around the world. Josephine was the most loving, kindest, sweetest person you could ever be blessed with as part of your life. She will be deeply missed by all and will be watching over us as one of God's angels.

A memorial and committal service, celebrating Josephine's life and the many gifts she brought to all of us, will be held on Saturday, June 9 at 11:00am at Flagler Memorial Gardens, 511 Old Kings Road South, Flagler Beach, Florida 32136.
