Thursday, January 21, 1954Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at Hope Cemetery for A. B. (Skipper) Crooks who died early Tuesday morning in the Sunnyside Convalescing Home in St. Augustine.
Mr. Crooks, who was known to his friends as "Skipper," was 78 years old and a native of England, coming to this country in his late teens. He had lived in Bunnell about 15 years, coming here from Palatka. He operated a service station here until he retired about five years ago.
He had been in failing health for several years and was in the East Coast Hospital in St. Augustine about two months before going to the convalescing home three weeks ago.
He was a member of the Church of England.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Marian Lau of Toledo, Ohio, and one granddaughter, Mrs. John Jaczko, also of Toledo.
Rev. E. W. Ware, pastor of the Bunnell Baptist Church, will conduct the service, with Garcia Funeral Home of St. Augustine in charge of arrangements.
